Lee’s Paws and Claws Animal Shelter
Receives FSACF Surprise Grant

At a Chamber Coffee on April 26, 2012, the Fort Scott Area Community Foundation recognized a need in the community that is not within the FSACF regular granting cycle timeframe. Thanks to Fort Scott Rotary’s Dancing with Our Stars donation to the Foundation, FSACF was able to award a surprise grant to Lee’s Paws and Claws for operating expenses. Fort Scott’s newest Animal Shelter was built in October, and is located at 721 240th St., Fort Scott, Kansas. An anonymous donor will match up to $2,000 for all funds the animal shelter can raise during the month of April. As a result of the matching funds, the $600 FSACF grant will grow to $1200 for the shelter.
